Smart Contract

Definition of

Smart Contract

A Smart Contract is a computer code that is defined and executed by the code itself. It is a binding agreement stored in a blockchain network. It defines the conditions to which all parties involved in the contract agreed upon. If the required conditions are met, certain actions are executed, thus removing the need for any third party to enforce the rules of a contract.
