Also known as a Subliminal Tweet, a Subtweet is a tweet (a 280-character post via the website Twitter) referring to someone but not mentioning their @username so they will not be notified about the tweet and not see what is written about them. While there are no specific rules about it, a subtweet is usually aimed to mock or criticize someone without directly mentioning his or her name.
