Proof-of-stake

Definition of
Proof-of-stake

Proof-of-stake is a distributed consensus where validators are chosen based on random selection and stake (locked up for a certain amount of time). Validators do not need the computational power requirement of PoW (Proof-of-work). Instead, the transactions that a person can mine or validate will depend on the number of coins or assets that he currently holds.
